LA FINESSE DU TEMPS

The installation comprises seven lightweight structures constructed of carbon fiber and paper that adopt their shape through the process of bending. Several of these structures possess complex movements involving oscillation, rotation, opening, and compression/retraction. The cadence of these motions generates an interplay between the various components and composes a kinetic garden with its own tempo.\nIn contrast, the ground consists of heavy and immobile stone islands that have accumulated sedimentation for 15 million years. \nWith the passage of time as its central theme, this scenography was conceptualized to serve as the exhibition site for Hermès watches during the Watches and Wonders 2023 event.\nSi Studio played an instrumental role in the design of the structures, taking charge of the parametric modeling process, and devising the mechanisms that supported and activated the various components and their movements. Ultimately, we were also actively involved in the assembly phase of the installation.
